Rochem
International Inc. celebrated its most successful year in the company’s history
in 2011. To commemorate such an achievement, Robyn Frisch, President and
Founder of Rochem International, hosted an appreciation dinner for all North
American and European staff members, as well as distinguished guests. As in
years past, several members of the Rochem family were recognized for their
performance, contribution and dedication to the teams overall results. Here is
to a prosperous 2012, the year of the Dragon.

International, Inc. was honored to host Mr. Li Yong and Mr. Zhan Huaxing,
representatives from Fujian South Pharmaceutical Co., LTD, a leading
manufacturer in Oncology APIs, at their 2011 end of year sales meetings and
appreciation dinner. In recognition of their outstanding customer service
and unmatched confidence and support, Robyn Frisch, President and founder of
Rochem Intl., presented Fujian South Pharmaceutical with the Supplier of the
Year Award. Robyn and the entire Rochem Family would like to once again
thank Fujian South Pharmaceutical and all our manufacturing partners for such a
successful year in 2011.
October 5th
Mr. Stephen Rivoir has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Rochem International. In this role, Steve will pick up additional responsibilities relating to overseeing day to day operations and spending time each week working in the NY headquarters office. Steve will be continuing to develop our food and nutritional sales and personally manage sales for key strategic customers in this area. Steve’s wealth of experience in managing, as well as expertise in business development and customer relations, have allowed him to be extremely successful with Rochem and have earned him the opportunity to continue to grow with the organization.

Rochem International has been authorized by Changzhou Sunlight Pharmaceutical as their Exclusive Agent for Benzocaine for the North American market. Rochem has distributed Sunlight’s Benzocaine for over a decade and as the largest importer of Sunlight’s Benzocaine, Rochem is able to provide the high level of customer service that users demand. Sunlight operates a cGMP compliant factory, is filing a DMF for Benzocaine, and would welcome the chance for customers to arrange for audits through Rochem International.
Rochem International has been authorized to be the exclusive agent in the North American Market by Shandong Futaste Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (Previously known as Shandong Futian Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.) for Xylitol. Shandong Futaste is the largest xylitol manufacturer in Asia, the second largest in the world with a capacity of 40,000 MTS annually. Rochem is the largest importer and distributer of xylitol in North America. Rochem pioneered xylitol of Chinese origin to the U.S. market in the early 90's.

Rochem International celebrated fifteen successful years by hosting a Seminar followed by an extraordinary appreciation dinner for leading suppliers of pharmaceutical and nutritional products in the beautiful coastal city of Qingdao. The Seminar was hosted by Robyn Frisch, President and CEO of Rochem, accompanied by nearly a dozen of her U.S. and European based staff, along with her China team as well. The event was attended by key representatives from forty of China’s leading pharmaceutical and nutritional manufacturers. The aim of the seminar was to provide critical leadership to ensure their business operations meet the ever-increasing requirements of today’s customers and Western regulatory bodies. It also looked at what customer’s really value in a world which grows increasingly competitive every day. The dinner event which followed was kicked off by Robyn’s heart felt address, focusing on how Rochem’s success is based on trust, support and our ever strengthening “Bridge to the West” that she began building 15 years ago. The entire day’s events were a tremendous success, as Rochem continues to shine the spotlight on what really matters, that is- relationships built over time, that last a lifetime.

Rochem International announced today that we have been given the exclusive distribution rights in the USA and Canada for Taurine produced by Hubei Shayang Tianyi Medicine Co. Ltd. Tianyi has the capability to produce as much as 16,000 metric tons of Taurine per year and runs a new State-of-the-Art production facility. Their material has both Kosher and Halal certification. Taurine has developed into a Key Ingredient in the fast growing Energy Drink market, as well as in Weight Loss products and Pet Foods. Rochem is celebrating it's 15th year of service to the Nutrition, Food and Pharmaceutical markets in the U.S. In addition to Taurine , Rochem also has representations on items such as Caffeine, Vitamins B1, B12, B6 and Inositol plus MSM, Glucosamine and Chondroitin and is therefore well positioned as a Full service supplier to the Beverage, Food and Pet Food markets.

Mr. Robert Johnson joined Rochem in March of 2009. Most recently he was General Manager of Excipients at SPI Pharma with global commercial responsibility for special sweeteners. He has collaborated with multinational and regional Pharma and related distribution companies worldwide. Rob has an extensive knowledge of oral solid dosage form ingredients and formulation requirements. He has been involved with pharmaceutical and nutritional ingredients since he began his career in formulation and process development at General Nutrition. He spent an additional 14 years at the Perrigo Company, a leader in consumer health store brand products, in various management capacities. He has also held an executive management position with an international custom manufacturing company based in West Michigan.
2008:
October 16
Mr. Rick Peterson joined Rochem as Sales Director, Food & Nutrition. Rick joins Rochem with a tremendous wealth of professional management and sales experience in the nutritional industry. He established and ran US offices / operations for two European producers of vitamin products. Rick spent nearly eight years working in a sales capacity for Seltzer, an ingredient distributor on the west coast, and most recently had his own consulting business. He brings this vast experience and expertise with him to Rochem.
October 7Pauline Yu, Rochem Qingdao’s Vice General Manager was promoted to General Manager. After just over a year in her original position with the company, her efforts overseeing the China based operations have been a true reflection of Rochem’s growth and direction into the future.

Mr. Steve Rivoir, Rochem’s Director Food & Nutrition, was promoted to Vice President Food & Nutrition. This promotion comes after a very successful year growing Rochem’s business including several trips to China, and extensive domestic contract negotiations.

Rochem had its Annual Appreciation Dinner at the Renaissance Hotel Pudong during CPHI China week in Shanghai. It was a wonderful and enjoyable evening joined by over 46 leading pharmaceutical, nutritional industry manufacturers from China. Mr. Xiu Laigui, Chairman of Xluzheng Pharm, Mr. Zhang Daiming, Vice President of Shandong Xinhua Pharmaceutical Co., Mr. Fu Qiang, President of Shenzhen Oriental Pharmaceutical Co., and Mr. Dave Zeplin, Senior Process Development Scientist, Novartis Consumer Healthcare were our honored guest speakers for the evening. Each gave a great speech about our strong relationship as partners and the impact that Rochem has been playing in building a bridge for Chinese products to the regulated markets.

Rochem's team led by the CEO, Ms. Robyn Frisch, joined by the EVP, Mr. Matt Thiel, Vice President of European Market, Mr. Charles Dods, Vice President of Regulatory & Compliance and Business Development, Mr. Marco D'urso, National Sales Director of Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Mr. Steve Farrell, our Vice General Manager of Qingdao Office, Ms. Pauline Yu, Product Sourcing Manager, Mr. Gao Keshan visited many key manufacturers that Rochem has been working with for many years in Beijing, all throughout the Shandong Province, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, as well as new potential partners in Shijiazhuang and Jilin Province. Rochem continues to grow stronger and is prepared for bigger challenges and opportunities both now and in the coming years with its outstanding team.

Mr. Marco Durso joined the ROCHEM team. Marco has been working in the pharmaceutical industry for over 13 years. His early career was spent at Bayer Corporation where he led a team of scientists in various areas of QA/QC. Most recently, Marco spent 6 years with Chemwerth Inc. U.S.A. where he was the Sr. V.P. of Global Regulatory Affairs and Compliance. While at Chemwerth, he traveled extensively to China working with many of China’s leading pharmaceutical companies. Marco is committed to insuring that all of ROCHEM’s suppliers maintain the highest level of compliance and continue to provide products of the highest quality. Marco is recognized as an industry leader and one of the global experts in his field for filing regulatory submissions in both North America and Europe. Marco’s expertise will allow Rochem’s customers to achieve the fastest approval times possible and avoid regulatory obstacles.

Mr. Zhi Wanmin, the CEO and President of Tianjin Jinjin Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd and the sales manager, Mr. Zhang Weimin visited Rochem’s HQ for the very first time after working with Rochem for 6 years. Tianjin Jinjin Pharmaceutical is the largest manufacture of Hydrocortisone in China. Mr. Zhi has more confidence in partnering with Rochem for a larger market share of Hydrocortisone in the North American market and supporting Rochem to promote their products in the European market.

Mr. Xiu Laigui, the Chairman of the Board of Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group in China, with his Vice President, Mr. Liu Shicai, and Vice President, Mr. Xiu Yuan, visited Rochem and had wonderful meeting. They discussed how to use this Bridge that Rochem has built in bringing Xiuzheng Pharm’s APIs and other pharmaceutical products to the North American and European markets. Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical was established in 1995 and has total assets of RMB3.8 billion with 30,000 employees throughout the country in China. Xiuzheng Pharm has become the 4th largest pharmaceutical company in 2006. In 2007 they were the largest company in revenue for Chinese Traditional Medicine in the Pharmaceutical industry. “Making good medicine with a good heart” is Mr. Xiu and Xiuzheng Pharm’s principle. His book of “Xiuzheng Power” and “Mr. Xiu Laigui and his Xiuzheng Philosophy” have become the must-read management and marketing guide book among many industries in China.

Mr. Steve Rivoir, Rochem’s Director of Food & Nutritional Ingredients in North America was invited as a guest speaker by the largest Xylitol manufacturer in China, our partner, Shandong Futaste Pharma Co. Ltd. and the largest manufacturer of IMO in China, Shandong Baolingbao Biotech Co. Mr. Rivoir discussed the growing trends in pre-biotics and functional fibers and the opportunities that exist in the international markets for producers in China. This was held during the FIC (Food Ingredients China) convention held in Shanghai.

Mr. Vincent Romano joined Rochem International as the Director of Operations. Mr. Romano has a strong background in management having spent time in the electronic and pharmaceutical industries. Mr. Romano will lead the day to day operations in Rochem’s NY headquarters.

Robyn Frisch was given the Honorable Citizen Certificate(Key to the City) of Yucheng, by the Mayor of Yucheng. Yucheng is known within China as Functional Sugar city in the Shandong Province.

Robyn Frisch, President and CEO of Rochem International, Inc. was awarded the “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award” by the Asian American Business Development Center. This award is the nation’s most prestigious Asian American business award program, highlighting the success of Asian American entrepreneurs and corporate professionals for their distinguished achievements in the field of business and recognizes those who demonstrate innovation, leadership and vision. Elaine Chao, U.S. Secretary of Labor, was the keynote speaker at the formal dinner event held at the Waldorf Astoria.

The day before CPHI China, Rochem is hosting an “Appreciation Dinner” in Shanghai to thank all the API, Nutritional/Food Ingredient and Sweetener manufacturers and suppliers in China who have been working very closely with Rochem and supporting Rochem’s growth for many years. There will be over 100 guests including CEOs, General Managers, Vice Presidents and Sales Managers from different companies in China as well as some customers from both North America and Europe.
